KOFING can handle oversized order
In recent weeks, our Paskov company had to cope with the production of two 15-ton oil and water quenching tanks, which were of impressive dimensions. 4 metres in diameter and 12 metres long! Due to their size, the manufacture and subsequent transport of the giant cylinders required a special approach, as you will see in the video.
Production:
Large parts, but thin sheet metal thickness. We already had to be careful when assembling the shell of both tanks. We made auxiliary reinforcement crosses that were gradually placed inside the shell. Finally, we gave the tanks a protective coating specifically designed for the conditions in which they will be used.
Handling:
The available machine manipulators were unable to move the tanks without deforming the shell itself. We therefore had to hang them on cranes and roll them on an auxiliary grating.
Transport:
We placed the steel "tentacles" in special saddles that we made and placed on special trucks. This way they were secured and passed through the gates of our production halls. We are glad that our engineers have calculated everything to the centimetres. The overnight transport was a success. The tanks, which travelled from Paskov to Žďár nad Sázavou, will be used to harden the products.
The speed of the order:
This project was also special in terms of deadlines, as we had only 6 weeks for the entire production. The deadline was fixed because of the oversized transport, which entails a lot of necessary permits. So there were 3 shifts working continuously on the tanks, including weekends.
