TAWESCO becomes the European leader in green steel!
The Korean company Hyundai Steel has chosen our company as the first partner in Europe for the introduction of green steel on the European market. Already in September, the first shipment of Green Steel produced by the EAF pre-melting method will arrive from South Korea and will be tested in our mill.
From 2025 onwards, we will also actively offer this green steel to other customers. TAWESCO will thus become the most important partner of Hyundai Steel on the European market.
What has happened so far?
- In April 2024, TAWESCO CEO Margita Rejchrtová signed a memorandum of cooperation in Seoul, South Korea. In it, TAWESCO commits to jointly develop, produce, process and offer Green Steel.
- South Korea's major media, led by the Korea Herald, wrote about "a major economic event for the entire country".
- In May, the top management of Hyundai Steel, headed by Vice President Jongwoo Lee, arrives in Koprivnica. During the day-long visit, we also discuss preparations for the first shipment of green steel.
- The presentation of our cooperation continues in Prague at the Automotive Leaders forum organized by the Association of Automotive Industry of the Czech Republic.
All these activities show the direction of TAWESCA, which respects the latest trends and requirements in environmental protection and wants to offer its customers high quality and environmentally friendly products.
